Hong Yen Chang Learning Center

张康仁 学习中心

The heart of the Middle School floor is the Hong Yen Chang Learning Center, a hub that houses the middle school’s print, media and digital collections and supports library research, presentations, class gatherings and breakout groups for project work.

The mission of The Hong Yen Chang Learning Center and the Learning Center Coordinator is to foster development of research and information literacy skills and an independent love of reading and student-centered learning.  In addition to providing space for class visits to integrate research and allow students to come in to independently pursue reading and study, this multipurpose space has already hosted a plethora of academic and community events. Its flexible furnishings and configuration support a host of functions, all ably overseen by the Learning Center Coordinator.

This space was named by several generous campaign donors in honor of Hong Yen Chang, the first Chinese American lawyer in the U.S.
