Teachers’ Professional Development February 2024 Workshops Provided by CAIS
Chinese American International School invites all aspiring and new Chinese immersion preschool teachers to join our enriching series of three FREE workshops that are designed specifically for teachers who are new to the field. This series of workshops (two online and one in-person) will be conducted in Mandarin and is sponsored by the Chinese American International School, aiming to support the professional development of new teachers dedicated to Mandarin immersion education.
We hope to attract more teachers interested in the Mandarin immersion early childhood education field and provide coaching and teaching strategies for new teachers.
The series includes three main topics:

In our concluding session, we will transition to an in-person format. You will also hear teachers discuss the challenges and exploration they had in becoming Mandarin immersion preschool educators, along with examples of career planning and development. We look forward to unfolding the journey of personal experiences, providing curious or in-service educators in this field with the motivation for more educational work and career development. Simultaneously, we aim to establish a Mandarin immersion early education community in the Bay Area, where, on the journey of “becoming a Mandarin immersion early childhood education professional,” we can be a mutual source of support.
