Messy Art Day is a day for young children to truly get their hands dirty! Children explore colors, textures, and a variety of media in a safe and fun environment. Messy Art Day is all about the process of art, not the product (see video here explaining the difference), where kids are encouraged to immerse their entire bodies in materials, from paint to shaving cream, oobleck, bubbles and more.
We held a Messy Art Day for Green & Gold class on Wednesday, May 11, and for Red & Orange class on Thursday, May 12. Parents were encouraged to pack extra clothes for their children. Children enjoy the process art so much they definitely needed to change clothes!
