On October 29, 2024, we were delighted to host Jeremiah Bogert, Jr. and Jessica Chen, directors of the feature documentary Surf Nation, which follows the victories and tribulations of a group of athletes training as part of the Chinese National Surf Team. The documentary is a fresh and contemporary look at the juxtaposition of Chinese collective values with a sport traditionally characterized by individuality. CAIS students in grades 4-8 were treated to a screening of the documentary in our theater followed by a Q&A with the dynamic director/producer team.
