See Stephanie Chou Quintet in Concert at CAIS

Free Concert @ CAIS Theater

Thursday, November 7 from 7:00-8:00 p.m., No intermission
3250 19th Avenue, San Francisco CA 94132

On Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 7 to 8 PM, CAIS is hosting a free Asian Jazz Fusion concert by STEPHANIE CHOU QUINTET. We invite faculty, staff, parents/guardians, and Middle Schoolers from CAIS, PKS, Silicon Valley International School, Yu Ming Charter School, and Shu Ren International School to join us for a memorable evening of live music.

STEPHANIE CHOU is a composer/saxophonist/singer who blends influences from her Chinese heritage with Western jazz and pop to create a bracingly original sound. She’s performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Joe’s Pub, City Winery, and in jazz festivals across the US and Asia where her music creates immediate cross-cultural connections. Her quintet combines saxophone and vocals in Mandarin/English with Chinese violin (erhu 二胡), viola, and a jazz rhythm section.

This is an event for adults and students in Middle School and up only. No childcare will be provided.

Please register below by Wednesday, November 6, 2024.  Reach out to events@cais.org with any questions about the event.

Parking Details

Some items to keep in mind for the event:

  • Please arrive at our campus at 3250 19th Avenue approximately 15 minutes early to give yourself time to park in the neighborhood (there is no on-campus parking for the event)
  • As you walk onto campus, please let CAIS security staff know that you’re here and they will direct you to the Arts Center entrance.

Parking Around Our Neighborhood

While the streets in the Lakeside neighborhood around CAIS are permitted parking (2 hours only unless you have an H permit), we are fortunate to have abundant parking (see map here) at a free parking lot on the corner of 19th Ave and Ocean as well as along Junipero Serra Blvd (yellow lines on the map).

When parking in the neighborhood, please pay close attention to signage about time restrictions, street cleaning, etc., and know that the city’s parking enforcement is especially vigilant in the area.
