In the heart of San Francisco, Lily Lin and her husband Andrew Lieberman, devoted CAIS parents, envision more than just a school for their daughters, August (3rd) and Marlowe (K). For them, supporting the school’s capital campaign is a profound investment in the future—both for their children and the CAIS community that holds a special place in their hearts.
When asked about their motivation to contribute to the capital campaign, Lily shared, “We felt drawn to support the school’s capital campaign because it feels like a direct investment in not only our children’s future but also in the CAIS community overall, which we cherish so much.” Lily sees this as an opportunity to pay it forward, echoing the spirit of past CAIS families who contributed to the 888 Campus capital campaign, even if their own children never walked its halls. Lily recognizes that their support laid the foundation for today’s middle schoolers to enjoy the benefits of the 888 Campus.
Inspired by CAIS’s vision to be the foremost Mandarin immersion school in the country, Lily eagerly embraces the opportunity to contribute to a lasting legacy right here in San Francisco. “As a proud resident of San Francisco, raising kids here, I want to take part in cultivating a legacy that will be meaningful for many years to come,” she expressed. Lily envisions looking back years from now, knowing that their contribution played a role in building a center of excellence for Mandarin immersion and culture in the heart of the city.
Lily resonates deeply with CAIS’s mission to “become our best selves” and “contribute to a better world.” For her family, it’s not just about language education—it’s about fostering a love for learning, respect for others, and an early understanding of global citizenship. “We feel that at CAIS, both at school and with the parent community,” she shared. The emphasis on not just bilingual but also bi-cultural and even multi-cultural education aligns with Lily’s vision for her mixed-race children to thrive in an environment that values diversity and global perspectives.
“When I first toured the space and saw the open greenspace, theater, dance studio, ceramics studio, and gymnasium, it just felt like the possibilities and opportunities for growth were endless.”

The anticipation for CAIS’s new campus is palpable in Lily’s words. Excitement bubbles as she envisions the additional space and amenities enhancing her children’s learning experience. “When I first toured the space and saw the open greenspace, theater, dance studio, ceramics studio, and gymnasium, it just felt like the possibilities and opportunities for growth were endless,” she enthused. Lily sees the new campus as a gateway to expanded programming, both for students and the community—a testament to CAIS’s commitment to providing unparalleled education and fostering holistic development.
Lily Lin and Andrew Lieberman’s family stands as a beacon of support for CAIS, embodying the spirit of community, philanthropy, and dedication to a shared vision. As they contribute to the capital campaign, they pave the way for a future where CAIS continues to flourish, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of students and the community at large.
