For this July, CAIS Athletics has created a Chinese Sports Camp for children in grades 1st-8th (with campers being grouped primarily by age) in partnership with coaches from Taiwan who have backgrounds playing on collegiate (I-Shou University, Kaohsiung Normal University and Kaohsiung Medical University), national, and/or professional teams. The coaches from Taiwan (see Meet the Coaches below) bring experiences that are equivalent to Collegiate Division I level here in the US.
Mandarin Sport Camps Highlights Include:
- Emphasis on fundamental development, team play, and more
- Off-court discussions and activities to enhance on-court game
- At-home workouts and instruction from coaches!
The camp primarily focuses on basketball, volleyball, and table tennis skills development along with conditioning training. Campers will be provided with the opportunity to develop and cultivate an interest in competitive team sports and Chinese. Chinese Language proficiency is a requirement, as the basic instructions throughout the day will be delivered in Mandarin. All participants will be supported with needed skill sets per coaches’ evaluation to maximize their camp experiences. The campers will primarily be grouped by age.
