Applying for the Academic Year 2009-2010

July-December

Please call the Office of Admission to schedule a campus visit at 415-865-6084, select 1. Your visit to the CAIS campus will consist of a tour and an information session. Visits are offered from October through May and last approximately two hours. Our tours are led by parent docents. On the tour you will experience daily life at CAIS by visiting classrooms, talking with teachers, and meeting CAIS administrators. Afterward an information session, incorporating a question-and-answer period, will be offered in the Admission Welcome Center led by the Director of Admission or Admission Officer.

APPLICATION for 2008-2009 Admission Consideration (for 2009-2010 Academic Year)

Please note: The CAIS application link will be available during the second week of October 2008.

• You may apply if your child will be:
  • 3 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2009 for PreK
  • 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2009 for Kindergarten
• Application Deadline for sibling applicants is Tuesday, October 28, 2008
• Application Deadline for outside applicants is Friday, January 9, 2009

Teacher Recommendation and Transcripts

PreK, K, & 1st Grade Applicants

On the online application form please download the student evaluation form and forward it to your child's recommender. The recommender should complete the form and address it to:

Please note: Teacher recommendation(s) for siblings and outside applicants must be returned by Fri., January 9, 2009 for sibling applicants and Fri., January 16, 2009 for outside applicants.

Evaluation

For PreKindergarten and Kindergarten sibling applicants: Evaluations will take place in November and December. You will be contacted by the Office of Admission to sign-up for a date after the sibling application deadline.

PreKindergarten: PreK* Morning sessions on Saturday, January 31 and Saturday, February 7: Times will be offered in early-to-mid January.

Kindergarten: Kindergarten* Morning and Afternoon sessions on Saturday, February 28, 2009. Times will be offered in early February.

*Invites to attend an evaluation session will be sent in the second full week in January for PreK and the second full week of February for K.

First to Eighth Grades: 1-day visit by appointment.

The Admission office will notify parents in ‘09 regarding enrollment decisions as follows:

Siblings: Thursday, January 22

PreKindergarten: Thursday, March 5

Kindergarten: Thursday, March 19
