Capital Campaign: Completed!
Building for an International Century
Thanks to the generosity and leadership of the CAIS community, we completed our two-year, $1.5 million Building for an International Century in September 2007. The campaign ensured that the CAIS campus can meet its increased program, facility, and administrative needs and guaranteed that the school’s growing student body continues to receive an outstanding educational experience.
Technology for the Future

CAIS student are the global leaders of the future. Funds raised through the Building for an International Century campaign allowed CAIS to enhance classrooms with technological upgrades that facilitate fast-paced, interactive bilingual learning and allows our students to develop skills that enable them to embrace leadership roles in a technologically competitive world. Teachers now have access to tools such as visualizers, which project both solid and three-dimensional objects and which will replace outdated overhead and opaque projectors. Additional enhancements include mounted digital projectors, smart boards, state-of-the-art laptop and desktop computers, interactive language education software, color printers, and a portable lab.
Community and Global Collaboration
CAIS is committed to strengthening ties to China and the global community by hosting delegations from around the world to further our mission of bicultural education. Capital funds enabled the school to enhance its conference room equipment and presentation technology so that our meetings centers can accommodate delegations of various sizes in addition to supporting the academic, administrative, and community needs of the school.
The Demands of a Growing Enrollment

One of our most pressing projects was the physical expansion of the Middle School so that we are able to provide bilingual and bicultural education to an increased number of students. Donor generosity allowed CAIS to add a new classroom as well as develop grade-specific student spaces and areas for group activities and socializing between classes.
Other improvements include the addition of a Chinese Language Support Center which enhances our ability to offer language support to our students and retain the diversity of our student body. The lower school science room upgrade enables the school to expand the hands-on atmosphere of our fully articulated lower school science curriculum. An upgraded performing arts room provides an improved practice area for the renowned CAIS Chinese Dance Troupe as well as a multi-use space for music and performing arts classes for our school as well as our campus partner, the French-American International School.
Lastly, CAIS faculty members now enjoy an enhanced workroom-lounge with the resources for them to communicate with parents, engage in collaborative projects, and relax with colleagues.
