On Thursday, May 1 the Herbst Foundation presented Chu-Sheng Liao Tang as the recipient of the 2008 Herbst Award for Teaching Excellence. The award recognizes 6-8th grade teachers in San Francisco who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in the classroom. Recipients of this award are exceptional teachers who have brought dedication, commitment, creativity, and innovation to the profession of teaching, and who have inspired the joy of learning in their students.

SHOWCAIS NETS OVER $150,000

This year’s record-breaking ShowCAIS event did more than bring the community together for an energetic, fun-filled evening. ShowCAIS 2008 also succeeded in generating an unprecedented amount of financial support for our school.

On February 27th of this year, Andrew Corcoran, Head of School of the Chinese American International School (CAIS) and Executive Director of the CAIS Institute, was awarded the 2008 Global Citizen Award from the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). The award was presented at the Global Education Summit Session at the annual NAIS conference held this year in New York City.
