Mandarin Camp
A Unique Summer Opportunity to Learn Chinese Language and Culture
Children ages 3 – 13 learn Mandarin with experienced teachers in an activity-based camp covering two four-week sessions. We place students by Mandarin-language ability levels, as well as age, to help them get the most from their experience. No prior Mandarin knowledge needed.
Students have fun as they learn through a variety of activities, including:
- Chinese arts and crafts
- Chinese dance
- Drama
- Chinese calligraphy
- Martial Arts
- Cooking
- Chinese math
- Computer class
- Singing
Students also have the opportunity to participate in field trips, to places like:
- San Francisco's Chinatown
- Asian Art Museum
- Exploratorium
- Oakland Chinatown
- Swimming venues
More advanced students are challenged to interact with teachers and each other to become comfortable speaking Mandarin in situations outside the classroom.
