Database Manager
Chinese American International School (CAIS) is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, conscientious individual to fill the position of Database Manager to serve as an integral part of the school’s development team.
The Database Manager is responsible for accurately entering donations into the database, creating and running queries, preparing financial reports, maintaining accurate donor lists and mailing lists, reconciling accounts monthly, and performing database administrative tasks. S/he will develop and maintain efficient systems for ensuring data integrity, including data entry, gift processing, prospect research, and relationship management.
Additionally, the Database Manager will assist in other development office projects and activities, including event planning, copyediting, mailings, and foundation research. The Database Manager must be committed to maintaining excellent relationships with members of the parent community, and with other groups within the school community and donor base.
Qualified applicants will possess the following:
- Experience with database entry and administration (preferably with fundraising database software, such as ResultsPlus or Raiser’s Edge)
- Strong computer, math, and logic skills as well as experience with diverse software programs
- Knowledge of database administrative tasks, especially creating and running queries and conditional merges
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, specifically creating financial reports and running mail merges
- Experience with book keeping, basic accounting and account reconciliation
- Strong computer skills, especially in MS Office, and ability to learn new software quickly
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor
- Ability to adhere to standards of donor confidentiality policy
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of work experience, preferably in non-profit development or fundraising
Desirable qualities include:
- Familiarity and experience with managing an Annual Fund and other fundraising campaigns
- Experience in a school environment
- Experience with event planning, marketing, research, and/or copywriting
